Concerto in C4- Part Deux

I step.

I step back.

I step back from the dust.

I step back from the dust and look.

I step back from the dust and look
around at the wreckage.

I step back from the dust
and look
around at the wreckage
to find.

I step back from the dust
and look around at
the wreckage
to find pieces.

I step back from the dust
and look around at
the wreckage
to find pieces
of myself.

I am most certainly not a math person. And until recently, didn’t think I was a good writer either. But, time and trials heal all doubts.

I really like this one. It caught me TOTAL surprise, and yet it has such minimal quality about it.

Thanks! It’s going to be a series of Concierto in C4s…in case you’ve missed the entendre, C4 is another term for dynamite. I got the idea for the name from a Mythbusters episode. There is a Part one on a previous post, if you just click on Poetry under “Categories” and scroll back a bit.

Tonight I’ dog sitting — did yiu know that dogs are codependent. 😉 I’m still not done toatlly with playing with my blog and so don’t know when I’ll write something more to upload — not poetry as I’ve decided that mine sucks.

In college, I was a math major and all that was required was that you be able to spell “mathematician,” so I was surprised, years later, to discover I could write something that other people responded to in an emotional way. I still strugle with the “spontaneity” thing, but I’m getting better.
